Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Punjabi Creative Translator who excels in combining technical proficiency with Punjabi creative translation for virtual personal assistant dialogues and communication skills to provide Punjabi creative natural translations. The ideal candidate needs to have a strong background in Punjabi creative translation, demonstrating an excellent command of linguistic principles and a keen awareness of contemporary language use, including slang and regional variations.

This role requires a balance of Punjabi creative and technical expertise, with a primary focus on manipulating code and variables within the code to meet the grammatical standards of the target language. The position is well-suited for individuals with experience in XML or similar environments and who are comfortable translating content with embedded variables in a markup language context. This is a full-time position, demanding 40 hours of support per week.

Responsibilities:

• Creatively adapt and review virtual personal assistant dialogues from U.S. English to the relevant language.
• Ensure the cultural relevance and creativity of personality-flavored dialogues by adapting them both linguistically and at the XML code level.
• Investigate and resolve linguistic bugs identified by the client-based QA team.
• Collaborate closely with client-based engineers, project managers, and other linguists to ensure translations meet client quality standards.
• Write and edit creative dialogues for the Virtual Assistant based on trending topics, cultural events, popular festivities, and other data.
• Refresh and refine existing Virtual Assistant dialogues.
• Help the team evolve the Virtual Assistant as a distinct, recognizable character in your language, while keeping it consistent with the general worldwide personality guidelines.
• Contribute to reviewing dialogue suggestions made by other writers.
• QA editorial responses.
• Embed the created dialogues in XML files using the company’s proprietary tooling (training will be provided).

Requirements:

• Native speaker of the target locale.
• Proven experience in creative translation from English to the target locale.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Extensive vocabulary and command of spoken and written English.
• Working knowledge of XML or other markup languages is advantageous.
• Experience translating content with embedded variables in an XML environment and comfort with manipulating XML tags during translation.
• Demonstrated ability to independently learn new technologies; all translation is performed using our client’s proprietary localization tools.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Translation/Audio-visual Translation, Linguistics, Creative Writing, Journalism, or equivalent relevant work experience.
